Don’t Let Dishonest Septic Companies Take Advantage of You!
By Oaktree1
I am sure that most of you have heard of the Terralift. A Terralift is the procedure that was designed to rejuvenate exhausted drain fields quickly without the cost of excavation or full replacement of the absorption area. However, what many of you probably have not heard is that the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) along with a few other states outlawed the Terralift in 2006. Unfortunately, there are still septic companies in the state of Pennsylvania that are advertising this option to residents, giving false hope of a solution that they already know cannot be completed.
Furthermore, these companies are charging customers anywhere upwards to $700.00 to come out and run tests to see if they qualify for this procedure, knowing it is not a legal option for residents in the state of Pennsylvania! But, if you are a resident of the Keystone state and your septic system drain field is not working properly, then you do have some options.

Terralift works. why it is illegal is politics
I know several people who used it and years later the previously failed systems are working normally.
You are absolutely correct. The Terralift does work, however, it is still illegal for a company to perform this procedure in the state of Pennsylvania. So, Pennsylvania customers need to be aware that this is not a viable option to restoring the drainfield. Do not let a septic company give you false hopes and charge you hundreds of dollars for testing when they know full well they cannot perform a terralift in the state. This is dishonest and poor business practice.
